novomind breaks the EUR 50 million mark and grows significantly: Digital commerce and customer service revenues exceed EUR 58 million by 2022

More than 30 new customers / Successful launch of APAC office in Singapore / Commitment to environmental protection and data security

Hamburg, 19 July 2023 – novomind continues to grow: The software experts for digital commerce and customer service solutions report record results for the financial year 2022. With a consolidated total output (Group revenues including changes in inventories and other operating income) of EUR 58.8 million, novomind’s revenues exceeded the EUR 50 million mark for the first time – an increase of 19% on the previous year (2021: EUR 49.3 million). Hamburg-based novomind AG generated EUR 54.3 million of this (2021: EUR 44.8 million), achieving an even higher growth rate of 21 percent.

Across all business units, novomind has acquired more than 30 new customers from various sectors, including the energy suppliers Thüga Energie GmbH, MONTANA Energieversorgung GmbH & Co. KG and ENERVIE – Südwestfalen Energie und Wasser AG as well as the smart home specialist ELV Elektronik AG. “Our excellent annual results show that software and services from a single source appeal to the market and are in high demand,” says Stefan Grieben, CEO of novomind. “We were able to take advantage of the tailwind and expand our market position.”

In 2022, novomind strengthened its own team by hiring 80 new employees. The company currently employs 600 people worldwide, over 500 of whom work under the umbrella of novomind AG, which is headquartered in Hamburg and has branches in Rostock, Lübeck and Weimar.

novomind APAC (Asia Pacific), which was founded two years ago, successfully gained a foothold in 2022. Modern omnichannel solutions are in great demand in the Asian market, particularly in the government and trade sectors as well as in the financial sector (banks and insurance companies). novomind’s customer base is growing steadily, in particular in the customer service sector. Thanks to their high degree of automation and efficient self-service options, novomind’s solutions quickly achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. There is also strong demand for the integration of messaging services such as WhatsApp.

Focus on maximum data security

In order to be able to offer its more than 250 customers in the digital commerce and customer service segments maximum data security, novomind continued to invest heavily in expanding its own data centre infrastructure in 2022. The provision of all services via novomind’s own infrastructure in one of Europe’s most modern data centres in Frankfurt am Main ensures a high-performance connection and a high level of operational reliability. novomind is thus able to offer all customers maximum data security and fully GDPR-compliant (General Data Protection Regulation) solutions from a single source without having to grant sub-service providers access to data or transfer data to third countries. This ensures maximum protection of personal data. ISO/IEC 27001 certification in 2022 is further proof that novomind meets all the requirements of this internationally recognised cross-industry standard for information security in the development and operation of its software-as-a-service (SaaS) products novomind iAGENT, novomind iSHOP, novomind iPIM and novomind iMARKET.

Increased commitment to climate and environmental protection

In 2022, novomind has further strengthened its commitment to climate and environmental protection. In 2021, the company started to set up an environmental management system (EMS) in accordance with the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). A milestone in the continuous enhancement of novomind’s environmental performance was reached with its successful EMAS and ISO 14001 certification at the beginning of 2023. Selecting state-of-the-art data centres with strict environmental and energy management standards for novomind’s servers also underlines the company’s commitment to sustainability.
