novomind welcomes six new IT trainees: the young IT professionals began their dual training in systems integration or application development in August. Four are based at the company’s headquarters in Hamburg and two at the Rostock branch.
Training and promoting young IT specialists has been a top priority for novomind for many years. Since 2012, the company has been cooperating with FH Wedel University of Applied Sciences. Full-time students can gain practical experience at novomind while studying for a bachelor’s degree in computer science, media information technology and computer engineering.
Since this year, novomind has also been offering training for IT professions that do not require a higher education entrance qualification. novomind offers excellent conditions for dual training as an IT specialist. Exciting projects and the development of tailor-made solutions for various customer segments enable trainees to acquire the knowledge and practical experience they need to complete their vocational training. Flat hierarchies, agile working methods and an appreciation of innovative ideas help trainees to quickly feel part of the novomind team.
Training to become an IT specialist takes three years. The focus varies depending on the chosen specialisation. Trainees specialising in systems integration work on the planning and configuration of IT systems. This also includes advising customers on the selection and use of systems, setting them up according to customer requirements, creating system documentation and training system users. Trainees specialising in application development develop and programme software. Their responsibilities also include regular updating and maintenance, IT support and advice on issues such as data security.

We hope that more and more young people will decide to train as IT specialists in the future,” says Dr. Jenny Brettschneider, Head of HR at novomind. “We consider it very important to contribute to the training of IT specialists with academic and non-academic vocational qualifications.”
