Previous year’s strong result confirmed / Digital commerce business stable against the trend / novomind AG reports slight growth / Sustained growth at novomind MEA
Hamburg, 24 July 2024 – novomind remains on course for success: With a consolidated total output (Group revenues including changes in inventories and other operating income) of EUR 58.8 million in the financial year 2023, the software experts for digital commerce and customer service have confirmed the strong result of the previous year (2022: also EUR 58.8 million). At EUR 55.6 million, the lion’s share was generated by novomind AG (headquartered in Hamburg), which grew by 2.3 percent compared to the previous year (2022: EUR 54.3 million).
“We are very satisfied with our annual results,” says Stefan Grieben, CEO of novomind. “Overall, 2023 was a very challenging year in a difficult market environment. With our stable result at the previous year’s level, we have brought it to a successful conclusion.” While e-commerce sales in Germany declined for the second year in a row in 2023, novomind bucked the trend and maintained the previous year’s level. “We were even able to achieve further growth in the strategically important product business,” says Stefan Grieben. novomind develops customised software solutions for digital commerce and customer service, including the novomind iSHOP shop system, the novomind iPIM product information management system, novomind iMARKET for high-reach marketplace integration and novomind iAGENT as a central omni-channel communication platform. By contrast, the company’s project business declined slightly.
Across all its business units, novomind was again able to win numerous brands and companies from a wide range of sectors as customers in 2023, including the manufacturer of screwdrivers and other tools Wera Werkzeuge (Wuppertal), the energy and water supplier Energie- und Wasserversorgung Bonn/Rhein-Sieg (SWB Energie und Wasser) and the dental technology provider GERL. DENTAL (Anton Gerl GmbH).
novomind has a team of around 600 employees worldwide. Around 500 of them work at novomind AG’s headquarters in Hamburg and its branches in Rostock, Lübeck and Weimar.
The subsidiary novomind MEA, founded in 2018, continues its growth trajectory under the umbrella of the novomind Group, with year-on-year revenue growth of 43 percent in 2023. This development is being driven in particular by the Customer Service segment. In the MEA region, the practical implementation of automation processes began much earlier than in the German and European markets, for example in the public sector and in telecommunications and healthcare. The 20+ strong novomind MEA team now has more than 30 of its own customers in the MEA region.
The subsidiary novomind APAC (Asia Pacific), which was founded in Singapore in 2021, is also making good progress. Here, too, demand is focused on process automation and self-service solutions for more efficient customer service.
In the current financial year 2024, there is a clear trend towards increasing automation of key customer processes based on artificial intelligence (AI) in both the digital commerce and the customer service segments. The use of AI is increasing and taking place in many areas, which is reflected in the growing demand for product content automation, chatbots, voicebots and shopping assistants.
