Software developer for commerce and customer service again garners five-star rating in the 2020 edition of the Hamburg business award
novomind AG has once again been awarded the top five-star rating in the renowned Hamburg’s Best Employers 2020 competition. The Hamburg-based software developers are among the award-winners for the twelfth consecutive time. With this unprecedented record result, novomind leads the ranking of top award-winners in the competition’s “Hall of Fame”, which is reserved for companies that have won at least five awards. The award ceremony took place on the evening of 23 January 2020 at the Museum am Rothenbaum, Kulturen und Künste der Welt (MARKK) in Hamburg.
“To achieve yet another top result in Hamburg’s Best Employers competition and to lead the ranking of top prize-winners with twelve awards in a row is a great acknowledgement of the corporate culture we have fostered ever since novomind was established 20 years ago,” said Stefan Grieben, member of the novomind Management Board, whose responsibilities include Human Resources Management. “At novomind, we all see ourselves as a team. Team spirit is what drives our innovative strength. Our thanks therefore go to the entire novomind team, who fill our corporate culture with life every day and make our success possible in the first place.”
Ever since it was established in 1999, novomind AG has been growing and internationalizing its operations. After opening a subsidiary in Dubai and a branch in Rostock in 2018, the Hamburg-based software development company set up a new location in Weimar last year. Today, over 350 novomind employees manage regional, Germany-wide and international software projects of more than 220 customers in the field of commerce, customer service and messaging. The renewed 5-star rating as one of Hamburg’s Best Employers will help to make the company even more attractive to new staff.
“We still have a need for motivated employees, not only at the developer and architect level but also as project managers and product owners,” emphasized Stefan Grieben. “There are more than enough exciting tasks, as the company continues to grow.”
novomind also offers attractive opportunities for internal development and promotion. Employees are effectively supported in their development and encouraged to quickly assume responsibility and bring their creativity to bear within the company, also above and beyond their actual projects and tasks. At the initiative and suggestion of the staff, for instance, various charity projects have been financially supported in recent years. Family-friendly working is a very high priority at novomind. Besides regular team events, the company also organizes the “novomind Family Days”, i.e. parties with a special program for children to which all employees and their families are invited.
The Hamburg’s Best Employers competition was jointly launched by Professor Werner Sarges of Helmut-Schmidt-Universität Hamburg, the IMWF Institut für Management- und Wirtschaftsforschung, alster radio 106!8 and Hamburger Abendblatt. In the context of the competition, executives and employees are interviewed to find out more about the human resources policies of Hamburg’s enterprises and organizations.
