Swiss travel and outdoor retailer Transa launches new online shop with software infrastructure from novomind

Conversion rate doubled after relaunch: novomind iSHOP replaces legacy system / product data management with novomind iPIM

“Get out. But do it right.” is the motto of Transa Backpacking AG, the leading Swiss supplier of high-quality travel and outdoor equipment. Following this motto, Transa has now completely redesigned and relaunched its online shop. “Be online. But do it right.”: the legacy solution (SAP Hybris) has been replaced by novomind iSHOP. The SaaS shop system from Hamburg-based novomind AG is to optimize performance and ensure an improved customer experience. In order to achieve this, the novomind iPIM product information management system was introduced at the same time for the efficient constant supply of up-to-date product data. The new online shop with novomind software went live in June 2019 after only a few months of preparation.

“The relaunch is a milestone for Transa,” says Tom Lütolf, Head of the e-commerce team at Transa. “We are pleased that we have finally taken this long awaited step. We now combine content –  for example experiences, know-how and services – more closely with a strong online shop and thus offer our customers a complete shopping experience.” According to him, the conversion rate doubled within a few weeks. The completely redesigned front end of the Zurich-based agency Station AG offers users everything they need quickly and clearly.

The online platform transa.ch is characterized by high performance and dynamics. novomind iSHOP enables faster page loading times as well as optimum display of all shop areas in full responsive design on all devices. Additional content such as travel reports or advice articles can moreover be created directly in the shop system. Such content can stand alone or be linked to products. The shop technology is supported by novomind iPIM: this PIM system for high-quality product data management in omni-channel commerce ensures fast and reliable data supply to the web shop. During the project phase, the product data of more than 56,000 shop items were revised and expanded in a target group-oriented manner.

Another key to the rapid success of the overall project was the perfect cooperation between novomind’s developers and Transa’s team: “This is a perfect match and we work hand in hand,” says Stan Carstensen, COO of novomind. The same applies to the two software products: “The project demonstrates the high efficiency of novomind iSHOP and novomind iPIM as a complete solution from a single source: fast implementation, flexible process management, high performance and a measurable improvement over the previous shop system since the go-live.”
