Specialist for branded shoes benefits from perfect interaction of PIM and shop system from a single source / User-friendly design optimises the customer journey / Technology change in just six months
Hamburg, 15th November 2022 – “Created to last” is the motto of Salamander Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, a group of companies headquartered in Wuppertal and comprising more than 250 specialist shoe shops and shoe brands in Germany, Austria and other countries. This applies to both the high-quality shoes and the new online shop of the footwear retailer with a brand history of over 100 years. This summer, the German and Austrian webshops, www.salamander.de and www.salamander.at, went live with a new software infrastructure from novomind AG.
The decision to switch from Shopware to the novomind iSHOP shop system was made in conjunction with the choice of novomind iPIM as the central high-quality product information management system. Besides powerful performance, Salamander’s new online shop offers a click & collect and click & reserve service. The joint Shoe Card loyalty card can also be used online and in numerous stores of Salamander’s brick-and-mortar sales network. From the size, colour, shape and price of the shoe models for women, men and children to the details of care products and accessories – novomind iPIM ensures the central provision and refinement of the product information of over 200,000 articles for all sales channels, both online and offline.
In cooperation with Creativestyle and denkteich, two novomind partners, the system change and relaunch of the online shop were realized in just six months. It involved the integration and connection of novomind iPIM and novomind iSHOP to the existing ERP system with complex permission management. In addition to payment in advance, instant bank transfer via Sofortüberweisung, payment by credit card or PayPal, Apple Pay has also been set up as a checkout option. While Creativestyle took care of the front-end design for maximum user-friendliness, denkteich ensured efficient project management.
