Innovation lab at novomind – the new “ID – Innovative Apps & Digitalization” unit

Originally launched in Canada in 2001, the World Creativity and Innovation Day (21 April) has been one of the “official” Annual International Days since 2018. Creativity and innovative ideas have been part of novomind’s corporate DNA for over 20 years – and now the company will expand its innovation capacity even further, as the Professional Services Division is pooling creativity and ingenuity in a new think tank.

The core task of the initially 14-member team is the development of innovation policies, their individual elaboration as well as service-oriented advice for use by the customer. More specifically, the team will pursue a design thinking approach that aims for customized solutions to customer’s individual requirements. The approach follows the novomind motto of “Just do it”, which has been practiced for 20 years, i.e. to develop new ideas through agile working and creative thinking and to test and implement them quickly and effectively in practice. The team will use UI and UX design based on the latest standards; the members of the new Innovation Unit have gained extensive development experience at various technology levels in recent years, from mobile app development on the available operating systems (Android and iOS) to the implementation of comprehensive digitalization strategies based on the interaction between web and apps in close cooperation with customers’ innovation departments. This has resulted in successful app projects across all industries, e.g. in the fashion sector, for electrical and DIY stores, or the real estate sector, including voice apps that interact with Google Assistant and Alexa via voice command.

“We develop effective solutions for the specific requirements of our customers,” says Stan Carstensen, COO Professional Services. “The core task of the new innovation lab is to develop innovative ideas and strategies that help our customers push ahead with their digitalization projects – both in connection with our products but also in business segments that are entirely new to novomind.”

With the new “ID – Innovative Apps & Digitalization” unit, novomind will enter a new dimension of creative ideas management. And best of all: novomind works on innovative projects and developments 24/7 and 365 days a year – not just on 21 April.
