We are novomind – with hanseatic roots in Hamburg and technology in use worldwide. We develop intelligent commerce and customer service software solutions and belong to the European technology leaders in our business field. We support around 250 companies in Europe and Asia with over 400 employees. And when doing so, our customers’ targets are our agenda. Our areas of activity are online retail and electronic customer communication. The service spectrum is as broad as it is specialised: from individual customer e-business solutions and e-commerce products such as online shops, PIM (Product Information Management) and marketplace integration, up to tailored solutions for contact and service centres. novomind AG is an owner-managed IT company run by founder Peter Samuelsen (CEO) and his board colleagues Stan Carstensen (COO - Professional Services), Stefan Grieben (CTO - Research & Development), Thomas Köhler (COO - Global Delivery), Mark Moeken (CFO - Finance & Legal) and Markus Rohmeyer (CPO - Product Management und CMO - Sales & Marketing).

What drives us


What began in 1991 with the invention of the internet is now commonly called the “digitalisation of society” or “digital transformation”. What’s behind this is a change as rapid as it is radical – in habits, processes, business models and the manner in which people and companies deal with each other. We have been meeting this challenge since the company was founded in 2000.

What we believe

Digital interfaces to customers are an essential driver of modern companies’ value creation. We recognise this in the continuously increasing enquiries and orders from our customers via service centres and e-commerce systems. Lifestyle habits are being revolutionised. People’s changing communication behaviour is just one indicator of this. In order to keep close to their customers, companies and institutions also have to be flexible.

Board Members

Stefan Grieben,


As Chief Executive Officer at novomind AG, Stefan Grieben has been responsible for strategic corporate management since 2022. He is also responsible for the areas of Human Resources, Sales and Research & Development in the Customer Service business division.

After studying business informatics, Stefan Grieben began his career at novomind AG as a software engineer in 2000. A short time after joining the company, he took on additional tasks in sales as an e-commerce project manager. Stefan Grieben has been a member of the novomind management team since 2006 and was appointed to the Executive Board in January 2012.




Stan Carstensen,


As Chief Operating Officer, Stan (Jörg) Carstensen has been responsible for Professional Services & Sales in the Digital Commerce business division of novomind AG since January 2019.

Backed by a degree in agricultural engineering, he has spent more than 13 years in leading positions in the e-commerce industry: first as part of a digital agency, then in the retail sector at Tchibo, where he was responsible for content management and the further development of country-specific online shops. He then switched to consulting and was part of the management team at mindwyse (now dgroup). Stan Carstensen took over large e-shops, IBM WebSphere Commerce, novomind iSHOP projects and mobile app projects at novomind in 2013.



Thomas Köhler,


As Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Köhler has been responsible for Professional Services and International Activities in the Customer Service business division at novomind since January 2019.

Thomas Köhler's career is closely intertwined with novomind's development. From the original idea of using chatbots as virtual consultants in customer service, to modern PIM and eCommerce solutions, Thomas Köhler, as a business IT specialist, has experience in complex customer scenarios and product architecture. Thomas Köhler has been a member of the management team since 2006 and was appointed to the Executive Board in 2012.



Mark Moeken,


As Chief Financial Officer, Mark Moeken has been responsible for the Finance & Legal division of the Executive Board at novomind AG since January 2019.

Mark Moeken's professional career began in 2005 at a Hamburg IT outsourcing service provider, where he initially worked as part of a cooperative degree programme and then as a controller for several years. Backed by a degree in business informatics from a university of applied sciences, he then switched to novomind as a controller. He has also been a commercial director and member of the management team and was responsible for the areas of Finance, Controlling and Law.



Markus Rohmeyer,


As Chief Product Officer, Markus Rohmeyer has been responsible for Product Management and Marketing at novomind AG since January 2019. He also heads up the area of Research & Development for the Digital Commerce business division.

Markus Rohmeyer has a vast wealth of experience in B2C and B2B e-commerce as well as in product information management (PIM). Backed by a degree in engineering, he has worked in various managerial positions in software development for catalogue management and PIM systems. He took over the PIM division of novomind AG in July 2010.
