Hamburg-based software developer meets IT security standard of the automotive industry
The digitalization of the automotive industry is in full swing. Manufacturers and suppliers have to prepare for the mobility concepts of the future. Reliable data and information security management systems play a key role in this context. Since 2017, there has been an important yardstick for this, namely TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange), an internationally recognized information security standard defined by the German automotive industry. Hamburg-based software developer novomind AG joined the circle of Germany’s audited TISAX companies in the first quarter of 2020.
For most manufacturers and suppliers, compliance with the TISAX standard defined by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) is a precondition for establishing a business relationship. The standard is based on an assessment catalog that has been derived from the international industry standard ISO/IEC 27001 and adapted to the requirements of the automotive industry.

This is our expertise.” According to Markus Rohmeyer, novomind has regularly proven its reliability in the field of data and information security as a long-standing software partner of mobility provider Sixt as well as through its practical experience in the use of artificial intelligence (AI). “This has now been confirmed by TISAX.”
Assessments are carried out by accredited certification service providers and repeated at regular intervals. Audited companies have the possibility to have further specific options assessed in addition to the standard assessment catalog. Being the provider of the novomind iPIM product information management system, novomind has made use of this option and included the security requirements for a high level of protection of sensitive and personal company and product data in the assessment.
“We are very pleased to have met all assessment requirements,” says Markus Rohmeyer. The first digital projects in the automotive industry using novomind iPIM and novomind iMARKET have already been launched in 2020.
