Sales consistent with previous years / Growing trend towards AI-based automation of customer processes continues / Investment in novomind’s private cloud
Hamburg, 1 July 2025 – novomind reported earnings before taxes (EBT) of EUR 6.5 million in the financial year 2024 – marking a 42.3% increase compared to the previous year (EBT 2023: EUR 4.6 million) and the highest profit in the history of the independent software company founded in 2000. Sales remained stable at the previous year’s level of EUR 57.7 million. At EUR 57 million, consolidated total output (Group revenues including changes in inventories and other operating income) remained slightly below the previous year’s level of EUR 58.8 million.
“Our sales remained stable at the high level of the two previous years,” says Stefan Grieben, CEO of novomind. “Achieving such a profitable outcome for the 2024 financial year is particularly gratifying given the turbulent market environment and its dynamic changes.” novomind specialises in developing bespoke software solutions for digital commerce and customer service, including the novomind iSHOP shop system, the novomind iPIM product information management system, novomind iMARKET for high-reach marketplace integration and novomind iAGENT as a central omnichannel communication platform.
“Since last year, we have seen a significant rise in demand for AI-based automation of key customer processes across both segments, which is also having a notable impact on our business trajectory,” says Grieben. Customers ranging from wholesalers in B2B and B2C commerce to digital customer service centres in the healthcare and financial sectors are seeking more efficient processes and increased profitability. “This is one of the reasons why we once again invested heavily in the expansion of our AI-based solutions and products last year.”
novomind employs over 500 people worldwide, with around 480, the majority, working at novomind AG’s headquarters in Hamburg and its branches in Rostock, Lübeck, and Weimar. The 26-strong team of the subsidiary novomind MEA established in 2018 serves more than 40 own customers in its sales region, primarily in the customer service sector.
The first major event in the financial year 2025 – novomind’s 25th anniversary – has already underscored the prevailing trend: At Call Center World (CCW), the international congress trade fair for innovative customer dialogue held in February, demand for AI-based automation processes using AI agents, product content automation or virtual shopping assistants was higher than ever. “Combining humans and AI to develop new products and solutions has been part of our corporate DNA for 25 years,” says Stefan Grieben. “This approach is being strongly confirmed by the market. Our customers in the customer service sector, in particular, are continually increasing their use of AI-based automation processes,” Grieben adds. “We are therefore very optimistic about our anniversary year and the numerous new projects on the horizon.”
