Product information for millions of products from thousands of suppliers can be made available to retailers quickly, easily and conveniently via the new B2B portal / AI-based features and integrated data quality management facilitate the updating of large product ranges
Hamburg, 21 November 2023 – From weight, packaging sizes, ingredients, product names and images to DIN standards and disposal instructions – the new web-based self-service portal from software developer novomind simplifies and accelerates the communication and exchange of data between retailers and suppliers. This saves time and money by significantly reducing the effort required for onboarding product data.
The new self-service supplier portal extends the novomind iPIM Supply product data onboarding module, which has already been successfully implemented by many retailers, and enables the rapid, automated import, transformation, release and synchronisation of millions of product data records from any number of suppliers or manufacturers. In addition, workflow notifications configured in the system streamline the coordination process between retailers and suppliers. For example, suppliers who have not updated their product data in a long time or who do not use the correct data format can be automatically informed by sending a reminder or notification via the workflow. This eliminates the need for time-consuming individual notifications. Retailers with a large number of different suppliers and manufacturers will particularly benefit from this feature.
Suppliers and manufacturers can easily make their product information directly available to retailers via the user-friendly front end with the support of import templates. The system’s integrated data quality management (DQM) automatically corrects errors and detects duplicates. Particularly in the case of large product ranges, AI-based mapping and other features make it much easier to import and update an unlimited number of supplier catalogues. Efficiency can also be increased by using AI to automatically extract and transfer attributes from product descriptions such as datasheets and marketing copy.
“Our new self-service portal simplifies the communication and data exchange between retailers and suppliers and offers significant savings potential by automating the onboarding of product data,” says Markus Rohmeyer, CPO – Product Management at novomind.
The new self-service supplier portal relies on novomind iPIM Supply. This efficient product data onboarding module is part of the novomind iPIM quality product information management (PIM) and product experience management (PXM) system.
