On 20 and 21 June, the big players in digital commerce met again in Berlin for the big trends and innovation show: The K5 FUTURE RETAIL CONFERENCE called, and everyone came. novomind was also there, right in the thick of it.
Over the course of two days, around 4,000 visitors filled the 14,000 square metre venue of this top-class future conference. After last year’s “we’ve finally met again” atmosphere, this year’s event was much more focused: The tense situation in the market was a frequent topic both in the presentations and lectures as well as in the personal meetings at the stands or over coffee.
Participants were unanimous in their call for innovation – while the standards of the big tech players may be good and helpful, it is important for retailers to come up with their own new ideas and offerings in order to be and remain interesting and thus successful. Creativity and innovation were also part of the panel discussion in the exclusive THE BIG PITCH format, in which novomind CPO Markus Rohmeyer also took part. The various challenges posed by big data were the subject of particularly lively discussion.
The novomind booth was always bustling with activity – topics such as composable commerce, seamless commerce and everything to do with an efficient omnichannel commerce strategy were often the subject of intensive exchange. Everything from a single source was available right there: Together with our partners OSP – Otto Group Solution Provider, creativestyle, uNaice and piazza blu2, the novomind team had their hands full on both days, presenting solutions, products and services for both B2C and B2B in a clear and comprehensive manner.
Many visitors were also curious about ChatGPT and how to use it most efficiently. With OpenAI integrated into novomind iPIM, ChatGPT can be used to generate large volumes of automated product texts in a matter of seconds. This is made possible by the novomind AI Hub. Thanks to the tireless presentations by our OSP colleagues, visitors now know just how fast and easy live shopping can be, as the live shopping experience quickly became one of the highlights at our booth.
Conclusion: After last year’s big reunion party, this time the focus of K5 was once again on the industry’s big issues for the future: How can retail become and remain successful? And what technical and strategic tools can help? Everyone agreed on one thing: We will see each other again in Berlin in June 2024, at the next K5 FUTURE RETAIL CONFERENCE.
