November 2023 Headless commerce: Shop Usability Award 2023 goes to Betzold Digital Commerce, novomind AG  by Daniela Köhler Publications officer Education specialist wins the “Special Interest” category / Modern headless commerce architecture based on novomind iSHOP and novomind iPIM Hamburg, 13 November 2023 – 9 November 2023 marked a great success for education specialist Betzold: the family-owned company from Ellwangen won the Shop Usability Award 2023 in Munich in the “Special Interest” category. A total of 300 online shops had entered the competition in 17 different categories. In addition to winning first prize in the above category, Betzold was also nominated for the prestigious e-commerce award in the B2B category. The modern headless commerce architecture of betzold.de is based on the novomind iSHOP SaaS shop system and the novomind iPIM product information management system. The novomind software package has been in use at Betzold since 2015 and has since been regularly optimised, expanded and taken to the next level. Following a comprehensive relaunch in January 2023, the multi-award-winning online shop – among others, Betzold already won the Shop Usability Award in the B2B category in 2018 – was completely converted to the current headless structure, representing a further step in the Swabian company’s digital and commerce strategy, which focuses on flexibility, dynamism and user-friendliness. The long-standing novomind partner creativestyle from Munich was responsible for the design and realisation of Betzold’s headless front end. The successful conversion of the online shop to headless commerce was also one of the most outstanding commerce projects for us this year,” says Stan Carstensen, COO Digital Commerce at novomind. The Shop Usability Award is one of the most prestigious e-commerce awards in Germany. The award has been presented annually since 2008 and in peak years receives up to 700 entries.
