Globetrotter Ausrüstung, one of Europe’s largest outdoor retailers, relies on e-commerce solutions from novomind. The Hamburg-based outdoor equipment specialist has initially opted for novomind iPIM, the product information management system for multi-channel distribution. “We use novomind iPIM to make our processes more efficient and reduce the time-to-market. Our aim is to gain a competitive edge with first-class product information, to increase the conversion rate and to reduce the number of returns,” says Christian Zien, Head of E-Commerce at Globetrotter.
Pilot customer for novomind iPRINT
The equipment specialist has additionally decided to use novomind iPRINT, the latest innovation from the Hamburg-based software experts. “It is fantastic that we have been able to sign up Globetrotter, a leading European outdoor retailer, as a pilot customer for our latest product innovation,” says Markus Rohmeyer, Head of the novomind iPIM business unit.
The additional tool of novomind iPIM allows enterprises to use QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign for database publishing. “This media production technology is playing an increasingly important role in the e-commerce world,” emphasises Markus Rohmeyer. “After all, even pure-play e-commerce dealers increasingly use print publications to complement their online product communication.”
These publications are mostly produced using the common desktop publishing tools. Up-to-date, high-quality product data are a precondition for this to function smoothly. This means that dealers and manufacturers wishing to produce print publications are dependent on the effective integration of desktop publishing and a modern PIM solution.
novomind iPRINT will first cover the complete database publishing activities of Globetrotter. The company also intends to produce its quarterly manual, which has a circulation of 450,000 copies, using novomind iPRINT.
