Globetrotter Ausrüstung, one of the largest European outdoor retailers, has launched its new web shop using software solutions from novomind. The new shop is based on novomind iSHOP and successfully introduced novomind iPIM for product data management already last year. The new shop system replaces Globetrotter's proprietary solution.
The new development focused on the implementation of various new omni-channel functions for increased customer friendliness and ease of use. Another task was to integrate the new online shop more closely with the stores to offer customers even more benefits. The geographic localisation function, for instance, delivers precise information on the stores where the desired products are available and whether remaining stocks in the stores may also be purchased in the web shop. “We attach great importance to building a bridge between our new online shop and our physical stores and this has been achieved very successfully,” says Christian Zien, Head of E-Commerce at Globetrotter. Other standard functions include Click&Collect for picking up online orders in the stores as well as the possibility to make online appointments and the participation in local store events.
novomind iSHOP was introduced swiftly and effectively in the space of seven months. Since 2015, Globetrotter has been using novomind iPIM and novomind iPIM Print to produce the printed catalogue and refine and update the online shop’s product data. “The interaction between novomind iSHOP and novomind iPIM allowed us to perfectly adjust the new Globetrotter shop to customers’ individual requirements. We believe the result is a modern reference shop which optimally maps the customer journey,” says Stefan Grieben, COO of novomind.
Globetrotter’s new online shop offers all necessary omni-channel features and allows new features to be implemented within a very short time. The shop was developed in close cooperation with Globetrotter’s IT Department; digital agency Shaken not Stirred was in charge of concept development, interface design and front-end realisation.
