IBM WebSphere Commerce implementation partner novomind integrates standard payment module for Computop Paygate

Being one of the largest IBM WebSphere Commerce implementation partners, novomind AG will make available a standard payment module which enables easy connection to the Paygate payment platform of payment service provider Computop. The plug-in allows national and international payment methods to be integrated smoothly and quickly. “Thanks to complete pre-configuration of the payment methods, the module reduces the integration costs by up to 90 percent," says Stefan Grieben, member of the Management Board of novomind. The module is seamlessly integrated into the IBM WebSphere Commerce environment and is suitable for individualised adjustment and extension.

A single interface supports payment by credit card, debit card, Paypal and “Sofortüberweisung”
The payment module supports the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0, Feature Pack 5 and higher, and currently enables integration of the following payment methods: credit card, debit card, Paypal and “Sofortüberweisung”. The advantage is that all payment methods can be integrated into the online shop via a single interface. “It is planned that future releases will support additional payment methods but these can also be implemented individually in the context of a given project,” emphasises Stefan Grieben. The integration is based on the “Aurora” starter store supplied by IBM but it is also possible using proprietary front-ends. In the context of the system integration, the module is adjusted to the respective requirements, including the necessary steps in the back-end system. It is also possible to adjust the Computop credit card template to the operator’s own design.

Integration into IBM WebSphere Commerce
The novomind Computop payment module for IBM WCS is integrated into the normal checkout process and  communicates with the Paygate payment platform of payment service provider Computop.
The integration processes make a distinction between card payments such as Visa, Mastercard, Amex or debit cards and online payment methods such as PayPal or “Sofortüberweisung”. The payment module for IBM WebSphere Commerce covers both types of integration. The credit card data is always processed in the PCI-compliant Computop systems, which means that real credit card data is at no time stored in the online shop. However, the Computop pseudo card number makes the same functions as a real credit card number available to the distributor. No PCI certification is required for use of the token system, which means that customers can use their credit card for repeat orders without having to enter their complete data again. Online payment methods require access to external pages. These are integrated into the Computop Paygate platform in such a way that the order is directly transferred to the back-end system once payment is complete.
