GROFA GmbH from Bad Camberg, Germany, has relaunched its online shop for B2B customers. The leading distributor of lifestyle brands for the biking, snow, technology and power sports segments now relies on software provided by Hamburg-based omni-channel expert novomind. The new B2B shop is operated by novomind iSHOP and also uses the product information system novomind iPIM. The new B2B web shop went live on 1 October 2015.
The large-scale project was implemented in the space of only five months. During this time, the existing SAP-based shop solution was replaced and reorganised from scratch using novomind iSHOP and iPIM. “User friendliness, high speed and real-time connection to the SAP backend system were the key requirements,” says Stefan Grieben, member of the Management Board of novomind.
For the connection of novomind iSHOP and iPIM, both systems exploit the advantages of in-memory computing, thus facilitating changes and updates in a matter of seconds. novomind iSHOP technology works entirely without caching and slow hard disks. Each page delivered is calculated in real time.
“We deliberately chose an integrated system from an experienced team of developers,” says Thorsten Kochanek, Managing Director of GROFA. “The feedback we have received from our resellers has been positive throughout and vindicates our decision.”
The new B2B shop offers GROFA’s business customers many new features. The availability and customer-specific price of each product are determined and shown in real time in the SAP system. Reseller prices and individual discounts are automatically taken into account.
The first practice tests carried out in the context of Eurobike, the international trade fair for the cycling industry, in September were positive throughout.
