Germania opts for novomind iPIM product information system

Renowned German furniture manufacturer plans to digitise its entire product data workflow. novomind iPIM, the product information management solution, will initially be used as the product data supply system for the company’s B2B customer channels and subsequently serve as the data source for the production of advertising and promotion materials and as a supply source for the online channel.
From shelves and cupboards to wardrobes, from office furniture to bathroom fittings to easily customisable shoe cabinets - Germania looks back on over 50 years of manufacturing high-quality, attractive and contemporary furniture bearing the label “Made in Germany”. Germania’s customers include traditional and online furniture retailers as well as general e-commerce firms both in Germany and abroad. As part of the digitisation of its entire workflow - from the initial idea for a new product to sales operations - the company recently decided to adopt a modern product information management system capable of bidirectional integration with SAP. novomind, the Hamburg-based IT service provider, was awarded the contract for planning and implementing the new system. “We are excited to have been chosen by a renowned customer from the furniture industry who appreciates the benefits and the flexibility of our novomind iPIM solution,” says Markus Rohmeyer, a member of the novomind management team and in charge of the company‘s PIM business.

novomind iPIM is a user-friendly standard PIM system for manufacturers and marketers. It supports the centralised generation, management and updating of all technical, editorial and multimedia content related to a company’s product range. novomind iPIM also allows to export data into all sales and marketing channels. “In today’s environment, a company’s success increasingly depends on the excellent data quality of its product information which needs to be efficiently structured and can be fed to all required media without having to manage redundant information,” says Markus Rohmeyer. “Thanks to novomind iPIM, workflow requirements for product data enrichment can be represented individually, resulting in considerably leaner production processes for the customer’s product data.”

Germania’s plans for the initial stage provide for a phased implementation and introduction of novomind iPIM as the central product data supply system for the Germania B2B customer channels. In a subsesubsequent step, the novomind solution is to be used as a central data repository for the production of Germania advertising and promotion materials and as a supply source for the online channel.
