frontlineshop’s heritage system replaced with novomind technology
frontlineshop, the leading online store for street fashion in the German-speaking market, is replacing its existing custom shop infrastructure with novomind iSHOP, the e-shop solution from novomind. By switching to the Hamburg-based IT service provider’s state-of-the-art technology, frontlineshop’s systems will be able to handle growing customer traffic. Based on the latest Internet technologies, novomind iSHOP allows to realise advanced e-commerce concepts for high-performance online shops. The focus is on modern shop management, low operating costs as well as the firm’s Six Multi technology which empowers global eCommerce in six dimensions (channel, brand, country, store, language, currency).
Greater scalability and focus on selling
“Our objective is to ensure greater scalability in order to be optimally prepared for tomorrow’s rising requirements. By switching to the next generation of shop systems, we are ready to handle steadily growing amounts of traffic and can lower our operating costs at the same time,” says Matthias Zillmer, managing director of Frontline GmbH. novomind iSHOP offers new possibilities which allow our shop managers to focus on planning campaigns. The new shop allows to appeal to consumers in a much more emotional way and to convey our fashion expertise to our customers much more efficiently. The new technical platform is an optimal base for innovative campaigns and a forward-looking user experience,” comments frontlineshop founder Torsten Lange. This will be facilitated by modern back office tools and live management functions which give shop managers direct control of all shop functions without having to go through their IT department.
Project completed within only five months
Following an introduction phase of only five months, the switchover to novomind iSHOP will be completed during the first quarter of 2013. “The short project lead time is primarily due to the modern technology. The new system is less complex thanks to its completely newly developed core,” explains Thomas Köhler, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at novomind. “Consequently we did not have to make any compromises in the development. This is in contrast to many other e-shops which have been supplemented with new technical modules year after year and therefore cannot offer the benefits of a truly integrated solution.”
Retailer uses another two novomind solutions
Apart from novomind iSHOP, frontlineshop also uses another two novomind solutions, namely novomind iVIEW und novomind iPIM. The seamless integration of these two tools allows to respond to future text and image data requirements without having to observe any technical limitations. The modular division within the platform supports the desired scalability of the online shop.
