In July 2013 novomind began with the development of the new Polish CEWE online shops e-Fotojoker and fotoBasia. These will be operated on a uniform platform with IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS). IBM WCS thereby offers the ideal pre-requisites for internationalisation, particularly when languages, currencies and flexible catalogue design are involved. Within the framework of the project novomind designed the storefront of the online shops to be more flexible so that a uniform platform could nevertheless be maintained. The typical payment and delivery methods for the specific countries were also to be implemented. The ERP systems serving the platform were also adapted to the local circumstances. novomind also integrated the price-search machines Ceneo and Skapiec, which are important for marketing, into the platform.
e-Fotojoker is taking a typical multichannel approach by coupling with approximately 70 branches, while fotoBasia represents a complementary sales line including a B2B segment. The project duration was pleasingly short: The new online shops were able to go live in September and October. Dr Joachim Marz, Head of IT at CEWE, gives us positive feedback: 'I would choose novomind and IBM WCS again!'
The creation of the online shops for the Czech Republic and Slovakia is to begin at the start of 2014.
