Atelier Goldner Schnitt replaces existing eShop software with futureproof technology from novomind
Atelier Goldner Schnitt (AtelierGS), a long-established mail-order firm for high-quality ladieswear, has replaced its existing eShop software with the novomind iSHOP multichannel commerce software. Headquartered in Münchberg, Germany, the textile supplier has subsidiaries in eight other European countries and is getting ready to cope with a growing customer base in the individual markets.
Based on the latest Internet technologies, the novomind software implements state-of-the-art e-commerce concepts for high-performance online shops. Modern shop management and low operating costs are just two of its impressive features. In addition, the software comprises Six Multi technology, which facilitates global e-commerce in six dimensions - Channel, Brand, Country, Store, Language and Currency. “We not only want our online shop to be permanently accessible but also want it to be used purposefully and managed dynamically. When migrating to the new software, we also made sure that the technical foundations were laid for the customised further development of the e-shop and future country rollouts,” said Philipp Winklhofer, Head of E-Commerce at AtelierGS.
Project time of only four months
The time-to-market was an important criterion in the implementation of the new software. The migration to novomind iSHOP was completed in February of this year after a test and introduction phase of only four months.
At present, AGS’ customers can search the latest styles in six different languages. “Our modern, seamless technology makes such a short project time possible. This is not least due to the fact that the newly developed core makes our multichannel commerce software less complex,” said Thomas Köhler, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of novomind. By contrast, many other e-commerce platforms have merely been complemented by the latest technical components over the years.
The company now plans the rollout of the AtelierGS shops for Finland, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden and Norway. This will increase the number of languages implemented in the search function to a total of twelve. Besides novomind iSHOP, AtelierGS will also use the novomind iVIEW image and zoom server software solution, which creates product images in a dynamic format and features variable image details and zoom views. Moreover, novomind iVIEW processes the image data directly upon import. After all, consumers who buy their garments on the web want to get as detailed a picture as possible of their future favourite skirt or shirt in next to no time. “We make very high demands on the fit and quality of the garments we offer our customers. The same high demand is made on our IT,” said Philipp Winklhofer of AtelierGS.
Since 1999 Hamburg-based novomind has been developing innovative eBusiness software solutions for the modern Internet world in four e-business segments: eCommerce (eShops and zoom server), PIM (Product Information Management), eMarketplace (marketplace integration) and eCommunication (solutions for contact and service centres).
In each of these performance segments, novomind ranks among the technology leaders in Europe. The company covers the entire digital value chain of trade and electronic customer communications.
novomind provides eCommerce operators with comprehensive advisory services on the selection of suitable IT systems. novomind currently serves more than 80 companies, including C&A, frontlineshop, Der Club Bertelsmann, Ernsting’s family, OTTO in the e-commerce segment.
