What happened before: sales and marketing strategies were rehearsed over years. Market shares shifted slowly, growth rates were characterized by evolution, gaining market share was rather difficult. Digitization was there, but rather with cautious budgets. Multi-channel meant primarily stationary - own sales teams, trade shows & events, desktop.
Corona changed this normality and accelerated the need for digitization. In the context of PIM, digitization means excellent quality descriptions of products and services. This lays the foundation for digital initiatives and omnichannel commerce.
Only in the course of the project do companies typically realize that the quality and characteristics of the product data generate the greatest effort in the project. That is why it is worthwhile to address the topic of PIM.
