novomind IQ™ agent helps young people choose a career.
Hamburg, Germany, 24th November, 2003 – Choosing a career can be a hard decision for many young people. Which job suits them best? What exactly does that job description mean? School leavers often have to wait a long time before getting an appointment to see a careers adviser who can answer these questions. To speed up the process, the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has opted to implement a virtual agent. Her name is Luca and she is online to provide students with careers support. A demandng job, but one which the newcomer carries out efficiently and enthusiastically. She was created using the Hamburg-based novomind AG’s leading technology platform for natural language dialog systems. Her area of expertise: Luca answers all queries automatically and in everyday language. The project was realized by novomind partner, Init AG.
Young people are particularly attracted to the internet.
Luca deals with an especially internet-friendly target group. She provides young people with effective and entertaining responses to their careers questions. 77 percent of all 14 to 19 year-olds surf the internet on a daily basis. This means that the interactive service provided a virtual agent is perfectly suited to the communication channels favored by school leavers.
More public authorities than ever before are investing in online services.
More and more public authorities are offering internet services. The aim behind this strategy is almost always to boost customer satisfaction, indicates a current eGovernment study. 83 percent of all administrative authorities want to satisfy customer demand for new and better services by improving their online presence. The focus is on providing measurable added value for online services and not just ensuring that the services range is implemented at all costs.
novomind IQ™ agents are an ideal customer communication tool.
Even though the German authorities have a lot of catching up to do as far as their web presence is concerned, they are currently working hard to bridge the gap. In international rankings for eGovernment nations, Germany is currently ranked number 10 in the world behind Canada, Singapore and the USA, amongst others. By 2005, all internet-compatible government services will be available online. The government has provided 1.4 billion Euros in funding, with an aim to saving 400 million Euros per year from 2005 onwards by streamlining administrative processes. However, this potential can only be realized by offering customer-friendly and service-oriented websites. novomind IQ agents™ provide especially effective customer communication by dealing in detail with the individual needs of each site visitor.
Background information.
Luca can be seen at the "Modern State" eGovernment trade fair in Berlin on 25th and 26th November, where she will be presented to visitors by novomind partner Init in Hall 7.2, Booth 23.
